Tattoo Aftercare Instructions
For best healing results:
1.Your licensed tattoo artist will apply a protective wrap or bandage (such as Saniderm) to prevent contaminants from getting into your healing skin. The protective wrap also shields against irritants like clothing and sunlight. Saniderm is both waterproof and breathable, allowing safe healing. Leave the Saniderm over the tattoo for 24 to 48 hours, remove the wrap. Seepage is normal from your open wound. This seepage consists of plasma, ink, and sometimes blood.
2. After removing the Saniderm, gently rinse the tattoo with warm water and fragrance-free, antibacterial soap up to 3 times a day or if exposed to dirt/bacteria. Pat the skin dry with a soft, clean cloth or paper towel.
3. Apply non-scented lotion up to 3 times a day to ensure your tattoo remains moisturized.
4. Do not swim for at least two weeks or longer if your tattoo wound is still open.
5.Avoid oils, anti-itch creams, Neosporin, and other healing ointments (Saniderm eliminates the need).
6. Keep your healing tattoo out of direct sunlight, pools, beaches, and hot tubs.
